Liberty Hill Fire Department and departments from Leander, Weir, Florence, Jarrell, Sam Bass, Jollyville, Cedar Park, Round Rock, Austin, Tx Forest Service, Star Flight, and North Lake Travis battled a large wildland fire behind the Summerlyn subdivision in Liberty Hill Texas.  Crews from Liberty Hill were dispatched to a large column of smoke coming from the area of Summerlyn subdivision. Leander Fire was dispatched for mutual aid. Upon arrival crews advised a large area on fire with tall grass moving at a high rate of speed.  Resources were called from all over the county to help contain the large fire that was being pushed by high wind gusts of up to 40 miles per hour.  During the procces of containing the fire another fire broke out in the Cr 267 and Cr 268 area burning 35 acres.  Crews were pulled from the first fire to contain the second fire.  After 8 hours of onscene time, all departments cleared the scenes with a total of 127 acres burned and no houses damaged.  No personnel were injured during either of these incidents.  Liberty Hill Fire Department would like to thank all of the responding units for their help.
